Are you a comedian who would like the Melbourne Comedy Festival to be a bit easier?
Good news: applications for the 2025 Moosehead Awards are now open!
The Moosehead Award has helped fund innovative and bonkers ideas for actual decades. We want to remove some of the financial risk that can make putting on a festival show terrifying, so you can concentrate on the comedy! PLUS we provide creative support or collaboration so you can elevate your performance.
How will The Moosehead help you you put on your show in 2025?
- We will pay your Melbourne Comedy Festival rego fee
- We will pay the first $3,000 of your venue rental
- We will pay up to $2,500 for you to have creative support around your show
- We may also support production costs for a particularly wild idea + they will do some overhead marketing
- If you live outside of Melbourne, we will contribute up to $2,000 towards your festival accommodation costs

The Moosehead has a really long history of supporting comedians in the Melbourne Comedy Festival. The five recipients of the Moosehead Award for 2024 are Harry Jun, Alex Hines, Cameron James, Urvi Majumdar and Lewis Garnham.
